A ministry that greatly impacts its membership and community is a ministry that is holistic and meets the needs of the whole man – body, soul and spirit. Experience has taught us not to plant a church that focuses only on preparing men for heaven and neglecting to prepare them to live on earth. Therefore, in the planting of our local churches, we come along side our congregations to identify their assets (land, skills, land resources) available, develop and empower them to use these to improve their lives and sustain those churches rather than being dependent on continuous outside support that creates dependency. As the Chinese proverb says, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Take him to the water, teach him to fish and you feed him for life.”

If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever – 1 Timothy 5:8
